When we opened in April, 1995 there was only one veterinarian and two support staff, one of which was Dr. Lagasse's wife Denise. In 2000, Dr. Gullickson joined our staff and at that time we had five team members. In 2005, our team grew to nine members consisting of three veterinarians, two veterinary technicians, a veterinary assistant, two receptionists and a business manager. 2009 saw even more staff join our team for a total of 12; three veterinarians, three veterinary technologists, two veterinary assistants, three receptionists and a business manager.
We have had many physical changes in our business as well as staff changes. In 2008 we re-configured the large animal handling facility in the hospital to use the space more efficiently. We can now use two chutes to examine cattle. We have also gained a better isolation area for sick calves. October of 2008 saw the beginning of our 2500 square foot expansion project. This part of our change added much needed space to our small animal hospital. This allowed us to greatly expand our ability to serve the pet owners in the community. We expanded our space from one exam room for small animals to three. We were also able to make designated spaces for surgery, dentistry, laboratory services, radiology, and an isolation ward. In January 2009 began the real excitement as the remodeling of the existing small animal hospital. At the end of 2009 we were finally completely finished with the project and couldn’t be more excited. We are now able to more easily serve the community and offer the quality veterinary care that we have always striven to provide.
Our Mission
The Mission of Rugby Veterinary Service is to provide the highest quality veterinary care, medicine, and surgery possible. We will continue to improve on that quality through continuing education and learning from our experiences. Our patients and clients will be treated with compassion and understanding, as they are the driving force of this mission.
